Who we are
Mexico is North America's favorite and an increasingly attractive market for FDI. With more than 40 free trade agreements, manufactured products account for 80% and accompanying transportation products 25% of total exports, Mexico is a growing manufacturing force. Significant investment has been announced by leading original manufacturers that create a demand for quality raw material suppliers.
Leading development is the state of Nuevo Leon, which received more than $ 1B of FDI in 2014, mainly directed at manufacturing, currently produces 11% of all manufactured products in Mexico and has the highest productivity in the country. Nuevo León instituted the so-called "Triple Helix System", a collaboration between state and industry universities, which resulted in the consolidation of the 9 efficient industrial groups. With more than 2,900 foreign companies, it is the production leader in many important sectors of the Mexican economy such as automotive, aerospace, home appliances, Software and IT, Health, etc..
In the heart of Nuevo Leon, Monterrey is a genuine "Beta City" - a critical urban node that is compatible with a wide range of advanced industries and because of proximity to the US border, home to some of the industrial groups more important.
International and local OEMs, including our customers, are attracted and encouraged by the incredible business opportunities in Mexico and will invest significantly in manufacturing facilities and operations in the coming period. They expect to find quality and dependable providers.
MES has been working hard to consolidate its presence in Mexico. We started shipments to Mexico in the summer of 2011 and the winter of that same year we were already storing and servicing our Monterrey customers. Our office, located in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico underwent many transformations. We have and continue to add staff, including a country manager, quality engineers, coordinators and warehouse sales managers. In October 2014 we acquired our own warehouse in Apodaca with an area of 7,200 square meters.
In May 2015, after a one-year process, MES became a beneficiary of the IMMEX Program which permits the temporary importation of goods used in an industrial or service process intended to produce, process or repair temporarily imported foreign goods For its subsequent export or the provision of export services, without covering the payment of the general import tax, VAT and, where appropriate, countervailing duties.
